hey guys you all heard how we sounded on saturday...
compared to the other bands la.
not very good right?
ok this is probably the scenario we will face if we do not get a gold.
mr brando tan will be known as the conductor who brought us down.
mrs song will be known as the teacher who brought us down.
and imagine if the other 3 ccas get a gold...
how can we face the school???
hm, i was msging mr brando tan yesterday...
and the confirmed date for reaudition is...
9 march 2005. wednesday...
keep it up people...
and he says we will be sending a very small band for syf.
so if you wanna get it.
i suggest you buck up ok?
those confirmed in will STILL be taken out...
if your standard does not match his requirements.,
so do not be complacent and keep on practicing.

Hey ppl!
must practise hard ya? syf is coming really soon and those who are on probation as long as u guys work hard and can play well u can get into syf! everyone [confirmed n probation ppl] will be auditioned again in mid-March.
we have reached a stage where it's not about notes, it's about how we play it. Technical things like tone and articulation are important aa well as the fact that we must play MUSIC not notes.
Count!! that's e only way everyone can come in together. [remember to memorize how much rest u have in both pieces]
*read e notices[things to improve on] put up on the board, they can help u improve greatly*

Stuff to work on!!!
1st March - Tubas work on B flat, E flat and F chromatic scales (semi-quavers)
Singapore Rhapsody
Bar 13-Melody people... play with feelings and musically.
Bar 21-Saxophone watch out for the dynamics and be more musical especially 2nd
Alto.
Bar 25 -Those playing the 2nd part must tongue clearly and properly especially tenor sax and f horn. Euphonium must learn how to play as an ensemble and listen to each other. Shi Ling, use more air to play. Tubas must link and connect the notes together and sounds like the double bass. Play with energy!!!
Bar 33 -Saxophone support your notes with plenty of air. No gaps between notes. Work on intonation, open your ears and listen to one another. NO MORE learning of notes. Clarinets must know your notes well.
Bar 35 -Tongue all the notes and play together.
Bar 49 to 52 -Percussion don't forget your crescendo.
Bar 57 -Euphoniums tonguing is too heavy, be more sensitive to the rest. Count and do not rush on the crochets and play together.
Bar 65 - Clarinets, flutes and oboes. Be more musical and look at the Mr. Tan for the beats. Saxophones and f horns must tongue your notes. Euphoniums don’t play too boring! Play lively and get the style right!
Bar 72 - Euphoniums BETTER know your notes well. Come in on time. COUNT! DON'T panic when you reach this part. WE NEED YOU VERY BADLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some horns players cannot play and work harder.
Bar 73- OWNERSHIP! Saxophones play with your ears open. Listen to other sections. Flutes and clarinets must separate the 1st quaver from the 2nd semi-quaver. Tubas don't enter like an atomic bomb!
Bar 87 to the end- . Trumpets ensemble sound. Tubas don't play so harsh. WATCH Mr. Tan as he will change the tempo.
Emperata Overture
Bar 87 - Clarinets must play together.
Bar 97 - no gap between 1st and 2nd note (trombones!!!) SOLI!!!
S and T - WHOLE BAND SOFTER!!! but with intensity. Only one 1st trumpet playing.
Bar 186 to 187 - Percussion play with ENERGY… Carol's facial expressions don't match her playing. Don't laugh and be more sadistic.
NOTE:
MEMORISE both scores by 1st of March. WORK HARDER! We can do it! YeaH! danger alert.. syf is very near.. about 7 more weeks only.. tats all... time flies..
